摩連奴離開車路士之後, 油王委任佢既好朋友兼足球總監格蘭成車路士領隊, 即時生效, 佢上任後首場賽事會係周日對曼聯既大戰.

52 歲既格蘭係以色列人, 佢晌以色列球壇相當成功, 曾執教包括特拉維夫馬卡比, 海法馬卡比等球隊奪得聯賽冠軍. 更曾帶領以色列國家隊, 差點成功晉身 2006 世界盃決賽周. 卸任後轉戰英格蘭球壇, 加盟樸茨茅夫任技術總監, 之後轉投車路士至今.

然而根據一些球會名宿, 曾與佢共事既人都似乎對佢能否駕馭呢隊處於如此困難時期既球隊有點保留, 有些更認為佢只係過渡人物, 車仔最想要既係俄羅斯國家隊教頭希汀克 ......

我覺得宜家真係要搞好士氣問題, 因為好有感染力既摩連奴突然離開, 加上連場大戰當前, 會兵敗如山倒, 定係破釜沈舟, 哀兵必勝? 真係睇格蘭有幾多能耐了 ......

Chelsea name Grant as new manager

Chelsea have confirmed that Avram Grant has replaced Jose Mourinho as the new manager at Stamford Bridge.

The Israeli, who was the club's director of football, will take charge alongside Steve Clarke.

"The club is delighted that in Avram we have an experienced man who can come in at a difficult time," said the club.

BBC Sport revealed the news on Thursday morning as Mourinho said an emotional farewell to players at the club's training ground in Cobham, Surrey.

Mourinho was then seen driving away shortly before the statement confirmed his successor.

The statement added: "In Steve we have a Chelsea man and he will be a crucial part of the management team going forward. Avram and Steve have our full confidence and support."

Grant and Clark took their first training session on Thursday and they were joined by club owner Roman Abramovich at Cobham.

Chelsea revealed the session was "sharp, with the players in buoyant mood, despite the disappointment of Tuesday's Champions League draw with Rosenborg."

The statement added: "Grant and Clarke, who have been appointed by the club's board, led a training session which included Wayne Bridge, back on the road to recovery."

Grant, 52, is due to be unveiled at a news conference on Friday and it is understood that his appointment is for the foreseeable future.

But former Chelsea player Pat Nevin believes it will only be a short-term option.

"It's an absolute certainty to be a short-term measure because they can't get the man they want," he told BBC 5Live.

"And the man I'm sure they want is (Russia manager) Guus Hiddink. He's not going to be available until Russia are out of the competition at the Euros in 2008.

"Avram Grant is going to be as welcome as Camilla at Diana's memorial.

"This guy is not well-loved at Chelsea. He is not going to last."

Grant is a close friend of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and his summer arrival at the club came after opposition from Mourinho.

The Portuguese told Grant not to interfere with team affairs but the Israeli's position was strengthened with a seat on the board.

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric, who worked with Grant at Portsmouth where he was a technical director, said he faced a huge task at Chelsea.

"I don't think there are too many people who can step into Jose's shoes, but if people chose Avam, he deserves a chance to see what he can demonstrate," Mandaric told BBC 5Live.

"He's a very good man, deals properly with the people and knows football, so given the chance, you never know."

Another former Chelsea player Gavin Peacock agreed with Nevin and said Grant would need to work hard to maintain team morale.

"If you're bringing in someone like Guus Hiddink, then you're bringing in someone of great repute, as for Grant, I don't know," he told BBC 5Live.

"I think the heart of the team will be affected by Mourinho's departure. It will be very difficult to get the team spirit that Mourinho managed to manufacture very quickly at Chelsea."

Before his arrival at Portsmouth, Grant guided Israel to the brink of World Cup qualification in 2006, having also coached Israeli sides Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Maccabi Haifa.

Avi Cohen, the chairman of the Israeli Professional Football Association and friend of Grant, backed the move, although he too said it came as a surprise.

"Avram Grant is very successful in Israel. He won the championship with several teams and he knows football," he said.

"Even so it is a shock that he was chosen. He had said that he had a very good position at Chelsea. He is a very good friend of Abramovich and he believes in him.

"I'm not sure that he won't be successful more than anyone else. If he has the ability he can be successful."

Sky Sports News understands departed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is to take up a position with the Portuguese FA.


Mourinho has left Stamford Bridge by mutual consent, with Chelsea confirming the decision in the early hours of Thursday morning.

There has already been speculation as to his next post, with the role of Portugal national team coach chalked up as the favourite.

According to a family friend, Mourinho has confirmed he is heading back to his homeland for a role with his country's football federation.

Mourinho will reportedly assume a job within the national setup, with the view to eventually becoming coach of the Portugal team.


Scolari ban

The source also claims that Mourinho told the Chelsea players at the club's training ground on Thursday morning that he would be working with the national side within the next 48 hours.

Luiz Felipe Scolari is currently coach of Portugal and reports have suggested he is wanted in the role until the 2010 World Cup finals.

However, Scolari's future in the post has recently come under scrutiny following his altercation with Ivica Dragutinovic during Portugal's 1-1 draw with Serbia.

Scolari has been given a four-match ban by Uefa, and been fined 12,000 euros (?,400), for the assault on Dragutinovic.

車路士會方致各球迷之公開信一則, 重申摩連奴唔係被炒, 而係雙方同意下解約; 另外, 摩連奴亦晌車仔官網發表聲明. 根據 BBC 嘅報導, 本應仲有 3 年合約嘅摩連奴同車仔傾掂數, 會得到大約 £20m 嘅賠償, 車仔亦進入後摩連奴時代了 .......

Chelsea: Jose was not sacked



CHELSEA have released a letter to their fans concerning the exit of boss
Jose Mourinho.

In it, the club deny that Mourinho was sacked but also insist he did not
resign.

Instead, Chelsea announced it was a 'mutual agreement' that lead to
Mourinho's exit.

The Blues also paid tribute to the work Mourinho did during his time  and
insisted he is always welcome at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's letter in full:

"The Chelsea FC plc board and everyone at the club has appreciated your
patience and understanding during what has been a difficult time.

"It is only right that we explain the reasons behind Jose Mourinho leaving
Chelsea and also recognise the immense contribution he has made to the club
and to English football.

"Early this morning we announced that Chelsea and Jose Mourinho had agreed
to part company by mutual consent.

"The key phrase here is that there was mutual agreement. Jose did not resign
and he was not sacked.

"What is clear, though, is we had all reached a point where the relationship
between the club and Jose had broken down.

"This was despite genuine attempts over several months by all parties to
resolve certain differences.





"The reason the decision has been taken is that we believed the breakdown
started to impact on the performance of the team and recent results
supported this view.

"We did not want this to continue or affect the club further.

"Chelsea's long-term football objectives and ambitions remain unchanged and
the appointment of Avram Grant and Steve Clarke is aimed at continuing to
achieve those goals.

"We also must pay tribute to the great job Jose did for Chelsea. He has been
the most successful manager the club has known and he rightly deserves that
place in our history.

"Jose has been instrumental in putting Chelsea where it is today, among the
leading clubs in European and world football.

"He will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge, whether as the guest of
Chelsea or as the manager of another club, and he will be given the
reception and respect his position in our history deserves."
