Actually, Shareef Abdur-Rahim is not that expensive.  It is expected that teams can sign him with their mid-level exception, which is approximately US$5m only.  I think this is a great deal for a player like him.

In addition, Nets has a US$4.9m trade exception and they are planning to use it to sign Shareef Abdur-Rahim.  So technically speaking, the Nets has already budgetted for his salary and Nets will not need to pay more taxes by signing him.

Yes, but his contract just expired and he understands that there will be no team willing to pay him at that level.  Besides, at this stage of his career, the most important thing to him is a championship ring, especially since he has already made a lot of money.

Starting power forward Udonis Haslem -- a Miami native who wanted to stay in his hometown so badly that he apparently turned down more lucrative offers from other clubs -- has agreed to a five-year contract that could be worth in the range of $33 million to $34 million, his agent, Jason Levien said.

The exact amount of the deal, which cannot be signed until at least July 22, won't be known for a few more days. Haslem will receive $5.5 million next season and then a 10.5 percent raise in each subsequent year.

Former King Cuttino Mobley is moving from California's capital city to its most famous metropolis. The swingman inked a deal with the Clippers on Thursday that's believed to be for five years and worth around $42 million, reports the Associated Press. Mobley averaged 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists for the Magic and Kings last season.

Corey Maggette will going back to play SF then ( i believe this is his natural position... if i remember right ) and Mobley wil give them some solid def., also a 2nd / 3rd scorer
