I come up the following candidates:

This list is by no means a comprehensive one and you are welcome to suggest any other player that is not on the list.

Personally, I would vote for Nash as he has turned a 29-53 team of last year into a championship contender.  Yes, Shaq has also done something similar but not as dramatic since Heat was 42-40 last year and they did manage to get into the playoffs.

Yes, I left out AI and that's unforgivable.  However, AI's case is similar to KG's.  While both of them post very impressive numbers across the board, their teams are struggling.  In this case, I am not sure if they can be named as MVP.
