Raptors hire Sam Mitchell as head coach, 3yrs contract nearly 5million. Also named Gary Brokaw as lead assistant coach.

The New Jersey Nets promoted Ed Stefanski to general manager. The 50-year-old Stefanski, a former college player at the University of Pennsylvania, served as the Nets' senior vice president of basketball operations last season after four seasons as their director of scouting.

The New Orleans Hornets named Hall of Famer Willis Reed as vice president of basketball operations.
